Itmenaan Estate Almora

Itmenaan Estate is a 100-year old Kumaoni home. The mountain cottage has been renovated to modern standards without compromising the traditional designs of the Kumaon region of Uttarakhand. Every inch of the mountain home has been locally produced. The roofs, walls, insulation and other techniques are taken from the Mason community of Uttarakhand. The scenic home has been recreated for leisurely vacations maintaining their old world charm.

Itmenaan Estate offers rooms in two kinds of cottages. The lodgings have been named after the trees found in the area, Oak and Deodar. Eco-friendly with the charm of the olden times, accommodations of the estate creates leisurely getaway.

Oak House

The Oak House is surrounded by lush forests, orchards and terraced fields, with magnificent views of snow-capped Himalayas. The 100-year-old restored traditional Kumaoni style stone house offers 3 tastefully designed bedrooms.

All rooms have king-size beds with comfy mattresses. The traditional architecture of the walls and the roof provide warmth and comfort. The bathrooms are fitted with a sky light for natural sunlight and all modern fixtures. They are also provided with running hot and cold water at all times. The facilities for guests makes their holiday pleasant.

Deodar Cottage

The Deodar cottage is a newly built two-storey lodging near the main house. It has been meticulously built in traditional local architecture. It involves stacking local stones one above the other cemented with mud like substance, locally called kori chinai. The architecture of the cottage provides warmth and comfort.

The cottage offers stunning views of the valley and Himalayan peaks. One large bedroom occupies the first floor with a sitting area in the ground level. The bedroom has a king-size bed with luxurious mattresses. The bathrooms are fitted with all modern fixtures. Running hot and cold water are available at all times. Each bathroom is fitted with a sky light to allow for the sun light. The comfortable amenities delights guests for a relaxing holiday.

At Itmenaan Estate, dining comprises delicious recipes that range from traditional Kumaoni, regular North Indian, to dishes from the Western world. The gastronomy is created with fresh, seasonal produce from organic farms.

Dine in the lovely front courtyard, in the semi-open air dining lounge, or the exclusive dining area that comes with your room. Keeping in mind, the purpose of leisurely holidays, there are no fixed hours for breakfast, lunch or dinner. Meals are available at the time of your preference. Furthermore, the kitchen is open throughout the day. There is a never-ending supply of snacks and soft beverages. Picnic lunches are also provided for those who want to venture out and explore the countryside.
