Hotel Details

The construction of Taj Falaknuma Palace was started by a Hyderabadi nobleman Sir Nawab Vikar-Ul Umra who belonged to the Paigah family. All these men commissioned their own palaces, own court and own army. This beautiful property mesmerized Mehboob Ali Pasha, the 7th Nizam of Hyderabad who also happened to be the Sir Vikar’s brother-in-law. The Nawab made Sir Vikar his prime minister so that he could get this lovely palace in the form of ‘Nazar’ or gift.

The palace was built in 1894 and the construction took around 10 years. This beautiful structure was designed by William Mard Marret, a British architect. Sir Vicar-Ul-Umra, PM of the State of Hyderabad, Nizam Mehboob Ali Pasha and Mir Osman Ali Khan Bahadur became the owners of this property one after the other. Later, it was bought in 1895 and remained the residence of Nizam VI till 1911. After this, the palace was turned into a royal guest house for the esteemed dignitaries including Dr. Rajendra Parasad, the first president of India how stayed here in 1951. Finally in the year 1995, the palace was restored by The Taj Group of Hotels and it became a popular luxury heritage hotel of Hyderabad. 

Taking their cue from the erstwhile luxurious setting, the makers of the 60 guestrooms have kept the royal feeling completely intact. Her Highness Princess Esra personally gave a lot of important to the décor’s of the room so that the royal touch and pure indulgence stays at all the places. Located in the ‘Zenana Wing’, the detailed architecture, superb décor and affluent furnishings of the Royal Suites would allure you. Timber that has been in these suites are seasoned120-year-old Burma teak.

Grand Royal Suites

Offering its guests an amazing high, Grand Royal Suites are a heady mish-mash of spectacular views and artistic interiors. The room has a special private area that was used by the erstwhile Begums when they had to remain in purdah. This suite contains of all the luxuries one can think of. The carpets on which you put your feet on, are custom-made in Turkey.

Grand Presidential Suite

The former personal space of the Nizam of Hyderabad, the Grand Presidential Suite is probably India’s largest Presidential Suite and the most outstanding too, oozing out unimaginable royalty. A self-sufficient pool of extravagance, this Suite consists of a private Jacuzzi, a private swimming pool, a rejuvenating marble fountain and decorate delicate furnishings. This suite is a mix of the royal touches of the past clubbed with the state-of-the-art modern comforts, which has been restored in a wonderful manner. Special state Banquet menu includes gastronomic delights. Every dish, coming from the royal kitchen, is prepared with great precision and perfection. The ambiance is luxurious too with special delicate carved mirrors and life-size portraits of the Nizams.

Celeste

Taking inspiration from the Renaissance, Celeste is an all-day dining venue where the guests can relish Mediterranean and Italian cuisines. The in-house expert chefs churn out lip-smacking delicacies in an alliance with European culinary experts. As the ingredients come from all around the globe, the tastes and aromas are authentic.

Breakfast at Jade Verandah

Brighten up your winter mornings by picking delicacies from an exhaustive a la carte menu or from traditional Hyderabadi, South Indian and Turkish delights during Breakfast at Jade Verandah. The Jade Room

An ideal place for chit-chat during your afternoon tea, the Jade Room’s menu includes an array of Indian fares, a special Champagne chocolate team and a typical English fare. The highlight of the menu was a selection of tea from all around globe, carefully created by adding traditional Nizami touch. The views from here are lovely. Originally this room was used by the royalty, the dignitaries and important guests for discussions and casual chit-chats. Fitting to the regal feel, the room comprises of a priceless collection of jade from different parts of globe, stunning Belgian cut-glass chandeliers and Victorian style hand-painted ceilings.

Hookah Lounge

The fragrance of jasmine in Hookah Lounge recreates the times of the Indian royalty. The extensive menu of the Lounge consists of a varied collection of flavored Hookahs that are served in handmade apparatus. Low-length seats, lavish upholstery, candle light and instrumental music add to the charm.
