History
The last ruler of Dhar, Maharaja Anand Rao Puar IV decided to renovate the palace to reside. But before the palace could be used, India gained independence and the princely states were merged with the Republic of India. The Jhira Bagh Palace was then abandoned till it was bought and converted into a fine heritage hotel.
